Call for Papers
Scope
The Journal of Eastern and Central African Studies is a scholarly multidisciplinary journal on modern and contemporary East and Central Africa and its historical, scientific and cultural diversity. It is managed by The African Studies Bookstore a publishing house with strong partnership with top universities and Departments/Institutes for African Studies across the globe. It is published quarterly (4 times a year) and we accept papers on the following countries;

All manuscripts are peer-reviewed by a minimum of two experts in the field through a double-blind process.

Paper Submission
Authors are invited to submit papers for this journal through africanstudiesbookstore@gmail.com. The manuscript must be original, has not been published before, and is not under consideration for publication or being evaluated for another Journal. Article should not exceed 8000 words.

Kampala Book Market, one of the most thought after and well attended monthly book events in Kampala is back with a bang. The event is scheduled for Saturday 30th September 2023, from 10am to 6pm at Uganda National Museum located on Plot 5 Kira Road, Kampala Uganda .
The market will feature new titles by local leading Authors such as Uganda; An Indian Colony by Prof. Samwiri Lwanga Lunyiigo, Why FireFlies Glow by Prof. Edward Rugumayo and The Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Betrayed by Hon. Miria Matembe.
International Authors featured in this Edition are Talkative Polity: Citizenship and Radio Domination in Uganda by Dr. Florence Brisset and Africanizing Oncology by Marissa Mika.
The market like any other market is a free open market for African literature books including novels, memoirs short-stories, biographies, autobiographies, poetry, history, law, gender, scientific research books, cultural books, Photography books among others.
This platform allows booksellers, authors and publishers to exhibit their books openly and wait for the market goers/ clients to come, interact, browse through the exhibited books and buy if they wish to do so.
The event is the only literary market in East Africa that brings together authors, publishers booksellers, book buyers, readers, collectors and all kinds of people interested in the art of reading and writing. This will be the 24th Edition.
