Secrets of the Sahel

“Secrets of the Sahel” tells of the culture and historical heritage of sub-Saharan Africa. At present, this part of the world (Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger) is virtually a no-go zone due to radical movements and domestic unrest. The journey described was made by a Polish physician and traveller in 2007. He refers to rich civilizations that flourished there and to numerous encounters with common people of different tribes. He wishes to underline that culture of the Sahel – one of the most fascinating in the world is irrevocably vanishing now.
